Wealth & Whispers: Police Crackdown on Illegal Sex Trade in Taiwan's Richest District
Elite Residential Area in Hsinchu Targeted in Anti-Prostitution Operation

In a surprising turn of events, the wealthiest district in Taiwan, Guanxin Village in Hsinchu City, has become the focus of a police operation targeting illegal activities. Despite its reputation as a haven for affluent residents, the area has been found to harbor illicit practices.
Police investigations revealed that a seemingly legitimate beauty salon, disguised as a "ganbanyoku" (岩盤浴) or hot stone therapy establishment, was facilitating 性交易 (sex trade). The operation involved staff members providing "full service" sexual acts to male clients within the premises. Authorities, acting on received intelligence, conducted a search and apprehended six individuals, including a man identified as the owner, Lin.
Guanxin Village, the wealthiest area in Taiwan for five consecutive years, is known for its concentration of high-tech professionals and high average income, exceeding NT$4.6 million. This high level of wealth is unmatched by other districts.
