New Beginnings for Taiwan's Futai Elementary School: A Bright Future Ahead
Facing Challenges with Innovation: A New School, A New Chapter, A Better Tomorrow.

In a momentous announcement at the 60th-anniversary celebration of Futai Elementary School in Zhongli, Taoyuan, Mayor Chang San-cheng unveiled plans for the school's future. The Mayor addressed the students, teachers, and parents, sharing a vision of progress. Acknowledging the current development limitations of Futai Elementary, the city government has decided to transform the school's location into a station for the MRT Green Line extension.
The city's plans include relocating the school to a nearby location. The city government will initiate changes to the urban planning, the new school will be three times larger than the current campus. The construction will follow a "build first, demolish later" approach to ensure a smooth transition and provide a better future for Futai Elementary School.
Established 60 years ago to provide education for the children of the troops led by General Huang Chieh, who retreated to Taiwan from Phu Quoc Island, Futai Elementary School celebrated its anniversary with an event that combined nostalgia with modern technology. The school utilized AI to create a "historical photo" display at the entrance, evoking memories of the past. Mayor Chang and the Chairperson of the anniversary preparation committee, Hsieh Mei-ying, participated in photo sessions capturing the spirit of the occasion. Mayor Chang also fired the starting gun for the school's tug-of-war competition, marking the beginning of the anniversary sports events.
