Historic Hotel in Tainan Faces Auction: Experts Predict a Tough Sell

A well-known, long-established hotel in Tainan, the "Yadi Hotel," is currently undergoing a court-ordered auction due to a "mortgage foreclosure." The initial auction, with a base price of NT$199.6 million, failed to attract a buyer. A second auction is scheduled for the end of the month, with a reduced price of NT$179.64 million.

Experts are noting that this is the most expensive property being auctioned in Tainan this year. Due to the fact that the property is "not to be handed over" (不點交), these experts anticipate that it will fail to sell even during a special auction with further price reductions.

The Yadi Hotel is located in the East District of Tainan and has been operating for over two decades. The hotel's official website is currently offline, with information available only on various booking platforms. According to online information, the Yadi Hotel began operations in 1998 and was a designated hotel for the "National Travel Card." It catered to business travelers, tourists, and those seeking a convenient location in the city. Situated at the intersection of Zhonghua East Road and Dongmen Road, the hotel is near the Tainan and Rende interchanges, as well as the Dàdōng Night Market.
