Abrupt Change: Hualien Police District Chief Removed After Less Than a Year
Internal Investigation Leads to Unexpected Leadership Shift in Taiwan's Ji'an District.

In a surprising move, Hualien County's Ji'an Police District Chief, Lin Jun-ting, has been reassigned after serving less than a year. The sudden shift, with Lin being transferred to Keelung City Police Department, has sparked speculation. Sources suggest that the change stems from concerns regarding Lin's associations with the underworld.
The Hualien County Police Department, however, attributes the reassignment to internal management issues. The department cited resignations and retirements among subordinates, along with perceived deficiencies in leadership and a lack of significant accomplishments during Lin's tenure. This decision was made following an internal performance review.
Lin Jun-ting was originally appointed to Ji'an last August, transferring from the Yuli Police District. His replacement, Chen Ying-yuan, the Chief of the Jincheng Police District in Kinmen County Police Department, will assume the role on the 21st of this month.
