Taiwan's Stance on Mainland Chinese Resident's Public Statements: Implications for Future Entry
How Comments Made in China Affect a Mainland Chinese Resident's Future in Taiwan.

The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) of Taiwan has addressed recent statements made by a mainland Chinese resident, referred to as 亞亞 (Ya Ya) (Liu Zhenya), who had her residency permit revoked and was ordered to leave Taiwan. 亞亞 (Ya Ya) was interviewed by *Global People*, a publication affiliated with *People's Daily*, where she detailed her experiences. She stated, "This crack started with me," and reiterated her stance: "Taiwan independence is a dead end."
Deputy Minister of the MAC, 梁文傑 (Liang Wen-chieh), stated on the 16th that her comments would inevitably influence any future applications for entry into Taiwan.
梁文傑 (Liang Wen-chieh) clarified that 亞亞's (Ya Ya) statements will be a significant consideration for any future applications to enter Taiwan. He contrasted the situation with the potential repercussions of making similar statements in Mainland China, implying that such speech in Taiwan is not subject to immediate detention like in the case of Fu Cha or Yang Zhiyuan. Nevertheless, he warned that the Taiwanese government takes the matter seriously, and these statements will have consequences for future applications.
