Tragic End in Taiwan: Painter Murdered, Ex-Husband Attempts Suicide

A horrific incident unfolded early this morning in a painting studio on Wensheng Street, Banqiao District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. A 35-year-old woman, identified as the painter and art teacher Chen (陳), was fatally shot in the head by her 35-year-old ex-husband, Xie (謝). Following the murder, Xie attempted to take his own life and is currently hospitalized.

The tragic event has sent shockwaves through the local community. According to initial reports, the couple had been embroiled in a series of domestic disputes. The art studio announced the devastating news to its students via a Facebook post, leading to an outpouring of grief and condolences, with students mourning the loss of their beloved teacher, "Chen-laoshi."

Preliminary investigations reveal that Xie, a laborer, and Chen met via a dating app and subsequently married. Last year, they leased a space on Wensheng Street, with Xie investing heavily to support Chen's dream of opening a painting studio on the first floor, where she taught art classes. The couple resided together on the second floor of the building.
