High-Speed Chase Ends in Shots Fired at Taiwan's Lehua Night Market

A dramatic incident unfolded in New Taipei City, Taiwan, tonight as police engaged in a high-speed car chase that culminated in gunfire near the popular Lehua Night Market in Yonghe District.

The pursuit began in Sanchong District, with police pursuing a suspicious black vehicle. The chase extended to Yonghe District, specifically along the Ring River West Road Section 2. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle collided with a motorcycle waiting at a traffic light before continuing its flight towards Yonghe Road Section 2, close to the bustling Lehua Night Market.

The situation escalated when the suspect vehicle attempted to ram a police car. Officers responded by firing two shots. Two men and two women were apprehended. Tragically, one of the women appeared to have difficulty breathing and collapsed at the scene. Emergency medical personnel were able to revive her, and she was rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment. Authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the events.
