Panic in the Skies: Passenger Opens Plane Door Mid-Taxi at Jeju Airport
An unexpected incident caused chaos and delays on a Seoul Air flight in South Korea.

In a shocking incident on the morning of May 15th, a Seoul Air flight preparing for takeoff from Jeju International Airport in South Korea experienced a major disruption. At approximately 8:15 AM local time, as the aircraft taxied towards the runway, a female passenger forcibly opened the emergency exit door on the right side of the plane's cabin.
This act immediately deployed the emergency evacuation slide, causing the flight to halt its departure. The aircraft, which was en route to Gimpo Airport, was carrying a total of 202 passengers at the time of the incident.
Reports from sources, including the South Korean media outlet, Maeil Business Newspaper, detailed that the flight was proceeding along a taxiway near Jeju Airport's A taxiway, en route to the runway. Despite the attempts of the crew to stop her, the passenger, identified as being in her 30s, opened the emergency exit, activating the slide. The plane was unable to continue its taxiing and was forced to stop. Ground crew then towed the aircraft away from the runway.
