Tragic Fire in Taichung: Mother and Two Daughters Perish
A devastating residential fire in Taichung claims the lives of a young mother and her two daughters, leaving the community in mourning.

Taichung, Taiwan - A devastating fire in Taichung's Dali District early Tuesday morning resulted in the tragic deaths of a 26-year-old mother and her two young daughters, according to local authorities.
The Taichung City Fire Department swiftly responded to the emergency, dispatching 21 fire vehicles and 48 firefighters to the scene after receiving the alarm at 12:10 a.m. The fire erupted in a residential unit.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed thick smoke and flames emanating from a sheet metal-covered unit atop a two-story brick building located on Zhongxing Road. The fire quickly engulfed the dwelling.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control within 30 minutes and extinguished it completely by 12:40 a.m. The fire caused extensive damage, consuming furniture and other items across an area of approximately 40 square meters.
During the search, rescue personnel discovered the bodies of three female victims within a room on the third floor of the structure. They were subsequently identified as a mother, aged 26, and her two daughters, aged 5 and 7. Tragically, none of the victims exhibited vital signs and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial findings suggest the front section of the third-floor unit was used as a shrine, with the mother and her daughters residing in a room behind it. Investigators suspect the victims were asleep when the fire began and were unable to escape the rapidly spreading flames.
A preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the homeowner was the mother's boyfriend, who was not present at the time of the fire. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the devastating blaze.
