Taiwan School Bullying Scandal: Senior Student Assaults Freshman, Sparks Outrage

A shocking bullying incident has emerged from a private high school in Taichung, Taiwan, raising serious concerns about school safety and disciplinary measures. The incident involved a senior student assaulting a freshman during two consecutive class breaks.

City Councilor Zeng Zhaorong (曾朝榮) brought the issue to light, stating that the senior student repeatedly attacked the freshman in the restroom, leading to the assailant's hand dislocating and requiring medical attention. The injured freshman, however, remained at school, a situation that Councilor Zeng Zhaorong (曾朝榮) described as "outrageous."

The incident reportedly took place during the school's break periods, with numerous students witnessing the assault and even encouraging the violence. Councilor Zeng Zhaorong (曾朝榮) criticized the situation, noting that the onlookers' behavior was "worse than the black society."

The Education Bureau has responded, confirming that the student who perpetrated the assault has received a major demerit. They also clarified that the injured freshman was taken to the hospital by their parents, and the school is providing necessary support and intervention.
