Impeachment Leader Chang Ke-chin Faces Questioning in Taiwan's Wu Si-yao Recall Case

In a developing story from Taiwan, the leader of the recall campaign against legislator Wu Si-yao, Chang Ke-chin, has been transferred for further questioning. The move follows an investigation into allegations of forged signatures and fabricated petitions related to the ongoing recall effort.

Authorities conducted searches and interviews today, focusing on the lead organizer of the recall attempt, along with other individuals allegedly involved. At approximately 2 PM, the Taipei Investigation Office transferred Chang Ke-chin to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for interrogation. Chang appeared calm and composed as he entered the prosecutor's office.

The Taipei District Prosecutors Office, in coordination with the Central Election Commission and the Taipei City Election Commission, has been analyzing data and evidence related to the recall petition. Their investigation included verifying the identities of those who signed the petition, uncovering instances of forged signatures. To secure evidence, the authorities searched the premises of Liu Si-yin and five others, along with five witnesses, including their husbands.
