Tragedy in Taiwan: Mother Survives Knife Wound as Two Children Found Dead

A shocking incident has unfolded in a residential building in Toufen City, Miaoli County, Taiwan, where a mother and her two young children were discovered in a harrowing scene. The incident, reported earlier today, has left local authorities grappling with the complexities of the case.

Emergency responders, arriving at the scene, found the mother with a knife wound to her chest, still alive. She was immediately rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Sadly, the two young children, found alongside their mother, were pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest the children had been deceased for some time prior to the discovery.

The family, residing on the tenth floor of the building, comprised a couple and their two children. According to reports, the father, Mr. Liu, returned home around 2 PM today and immediately alerted the authorities. Initial reports suggested a potential case of suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. However, the reality revealed a more complex situation.

The surviving mother is a 34-year-old woman. The deceased children were a 9-year-old son and an 8-month-old daughter. The bodies of the children showed signs of rigor mortis and livor mortis, indicating they had been deceased for a period. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths and the mother's survival.
