Yang Hui-Ju Slams Cho Jung-tai: Taiwan's Economic Strategy Faces Criticism
Political Analyst Yang Hui-Ju Questions the Logic Behind the Government's Actions Regarding US Tariffs and Domestic Policy

The Taiwanese government's recent announcement of a comprehensive economic strategy to address the 32% reciprocal tariffs imposed by the United States has sparked debate. Premier Cho Jung-tai unveiled a plan featuring nine key areas and twenty specific measures, with a total budget of NT$88 billion, aimed at assisting local industries. A meeting with both the ruling and opposition parties in the Legislative Yuan is scheduled for next week to discuss the national strategy.
However, this strategy has drawn sharp criticism from political commentator Yang Hui-Ju, also known as "卡神 (Card God)", via her Facebook account. Yang Hui-Ju questioned the government's approach, specifically the simultaneous invitation of the opposition to collaborate on national issues while also potentially pursuing recall actions against members of the opposition party.
Yang Hui-Ju, despite her known dislike for the "英系 (Ying Department)", expressed her disappointment with the current administration’s handling of the situation. She contrasted the current response with the previous administration, stating that this had made her miss the former cabinet led by Su Tseng-chang under Tsai Ing-wen. Furthermore, she criticized the government's decision to allocate NT$88 billion in subsidies, instead of using the local automobile industry to negotiate with Trump for tariff reductions.
