Kenting's Taiwan Music Festival Rocks Taiwan with Over a Million Attendees!

Taipei, April 6 - The annual Taiwan Music Festival, held in Kenting, southern Taiwan, has once again proven its immense popularity, drawing over a million music lovers from Thursday to Saturday, according to the organizers.

The first day of the event saw an impressive 300,000 fans, with attendance swelling to 410,000 on the second day, reported the Pingtung County government, citing data from telecom operators.

As Saturday's performances approached, thousands were already gathered in front of the main stage on Kenting Beach. By the festival's end, the total attendance over the three-day period had surpassed one million, as confirmed by the county government.

The fifth edition of the music festival culminated on Saturday with a headlining performance by the renowned Taiwanese rock band Fire Ex., joined by the rapper Savage.M.

The Pingtung County government, which organizes the festival, confirmed that this was the third consecutive year the event has drawn over one million attendees.

Yin Feng-lan (鄞鳳蘭), head of the Pingtung Information and International Affairs Department, attributes the large turnout to the festival's growing popularity and its timing near the Tomb Sweeping holiday, which this year extended from Thursday to Sunday. She also noted that the festival has become a "mecca" for music fans, generating business opportunities and boosting the county's economic development.

The Pingtung County government launched the Taiwan Music Festival in 2021, succeeding Spring Scream, Taiwan's former largest independent music festival, typically held in Pingtung's Hengchun Township.
