Tragedy on Taiwan's MRT: Woman Dies After Falling Onto Tracks at Fuzhong Station

A 23-Year-Old Woman Passes Away Following Incident on the Bannan Line

A tragic incident unfolded on the MRT Bannan Line in Taiwan this evening, as a 23-year-old woman, identified as Ms. Lai, was struck by a train at Fuzhong Station. The incident occurred around 6:00 PM local time.

Reports indicate that Ms. Lai climbed over the platform screen door before being hit by a train heading towards Tucheng and Dingpu. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene. After being extricated from beneath the train, she was rushed to a local hospital.

Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Ms. Lai unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. She suffered a leg fracture and a 10-centimeter facial laceration, and was pronounced dead at the hospital around 9:00 PM.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation by the local authorities. The police are working to determine the exact circumstances leading up to Ms. Lai's fall onto the tracks. The Bannan Line experienced disruptions during the rescue and investigation.
