A devastating accident in New Taipei City has resulted in the death of an elderly man after his wife lost control of their vehicle.

On [Today's Date], 79-year-old Tsai was being driven to the hospital by his 77-year-old wife, Wu, due to a heart condition. While traveling on Meining Street in Taishan District, the vehicle, driven by Wu, reportedly swerved and struck a guardrail, causing the car to flip over. Emergency services arrived at the scene to find Tsai in the passenger seat, unresponsive.

Emergency responders rushed Tsai to Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. Wu, who was driving, sustained minor abrasions to her limbs. An accompanying foreign caregiver, who was also in the car, was unharmed.

Local police and fire authorities responded to the scene at approximately 12:00 PM. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
