Taiwan High Speed Rail Faces Scrutiny After Train Skips Banqiao Station Stop

Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) is investigating a recent incident where a northbound train failed to stop at Banqiao Station as scheduled. The incident occurred this morning, with the train, number 204, expected to arrive at Banqiao at 8:26 AM. Passengers reported experiencing the unusual situation.

THSR has confirmed that the train's failure to stop was due to human error, specifically the failure to open the train doors at the station. An internal investigation has been launched to address the lapse and identify the responsible individuals.

In response to the situation, THSR facilitated alternative arrangements for affected passengers. Those intending to disembark at Banqiao were directed to disembark at Taipei Station and were provided with connections to southbound trains to return to Banqiao. Passengers originally scheduled to board the train at Banqiao were accommodated on the next available northbound service.
