Tragedy in Taichung: Young Woman's Fatal Fall at Eslite Bookstore

Taichung, Taiwan – Authorities are investigating a tragic incident at the popular Eslite Bookstore (誠品, Chengpin) in the city of Taichung. Early this morning, a 26-year-old woman, identified as Ms. Liang, was found fallen at the shopping center's entrance. Despite immediate medical attention, Ms. Liang succumbed to her injuries.

Police responded to the scene at approximately 1:00 AM this morning, finding Ms. Liang on the ground near the road in front of the shopping complex. Emergency services transported her to the China Medical University Hospital, but unfortunately, she could not be saved.

Initial investigations, including the review of surveillance footage and crime scene analysis, have ruled out any external involvement. However, this marks the third such incident at the Eslite Bookstore in recent times. The Taichung police are working with the prosecutor's office and the bookstore management to review the circumstances and discuss enhanced safety measures to prevent future tragedies.
