KYMCO's Shocking Shakeup: Chairman Ko Sheng-feng Resigns Amidst Internal Strife
Taiwan's Motorcycle Giant Faces Leadership Vacuum Following Unexpected Departure and Alleged Shareholder Discord.

The iconic Taiwanese motorcycle manufacturer, KYMCO, is reeling from a sudden turn of events. Despite recent statements denying internal conflicts, Chairman Ko Sheng-feng has resigned, fueling speculation about deep-seated disagreements within the company.
Ko Sheng-feng offered a public apology, acknowledging that rumors of shareholder disagreements were accurate. He cited fundamental differences in opinion among the shareholders as the primary reason for his resignation.
Ko Sheng-feng revealed that KYMCO is divided into two factions with vastly contrasting views. One faction, represented by Ko himself, holds less than 20% of the shares. The other faction, led by CEO Ko Chun-pin, views motorcycles as a declining industry, advocating for a conservative approach. These opposing perspectives, described as a "multi-headed management" approach, have reportedly led to organizational dysfunction, ultimately costing KYMCO its 22-year reign as market leader.
