Taiwan Semiconductor Giants Reject Trump's Accusations: A Tale of Innovation and Perseverance
Delta Electronics Founder Zheng Chonghua Defends Taiwan's Semiconductor Success Against US Claims

The recent accusations from former US President Donald Trump, claiming that Taiwan stole the US semiconductor industry, have ignited strong reactions within Taiwan's business community. Delta Electronics founder Zheng Chonghua has vehemently rejected these claims, highlighting the dedication and hard work that have fueled Taiwan's rise in the global semiconductor market.
Speaking at a new book launch hosted by CommonWealth Magazine, Zheng Chonghua offered his insights on how Taiwan's semiconductor industry continues to maintain its "silicon shield" advantage. He emphasized that Taiwan's achievements are a direct result of the contributions of returning overseas elites, the tireless efforts of Taiwan's skilled engineers, and the decisive policies and vision of the government. He explicitly refuted Trump's assertion that Taiwan "stole" the American chip business.
The book launch, featuring the publication "From the Periphery to the Core" by Shi Chintay, former president of the Industrial Technology Research Institute, Chen Tien-chi, former president of the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research, and Wu Shu-hai, a historical and cultural writer, provided the platform for these statements and a broader discussion on Taiwan's semiconductor success story.
