New Taipei City, April 9 – In a demonstration of international collaboration, the Polish Office in Taipei, alongside Taiwan's National Fire Agency (NFA), orchestrated a significant disaster response and first aid training event for foreign representatives and international organizations.

The event, held in New Taipei City, saw the participation of 35 representatives from 20 European Union member states, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and various international organizations' branch offices. The day's activities encompassed comprehensive lectures and hands-on training sessions.

Expert-led lectures provided attendees with crucial insights into the prevalent disasters and risks facing Taiwan, the intricacies of its disaster management system, and actionable strategies for individual and household preparedness.

Practical skills were honed through hands-on drills. Dr. Chen Chao-wen (陳昭文) from Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, guided participants through CPR techniques, AED operation, hemorrhage control, and casualty transport methods.

The event served to reinforce the close partnership between Taiwan and its international allies in disaster management, fostering even greater collaboration between Taiwan and the EU in the domain of disaster preparedness, according to Tung.
