The Central Weather Administration in Taiwan has issued a detailed earthquake report following a significant seismic event this morning. At 9:53 AM local time, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck near Su'ao Township in Yilan County (approximately 15.5 kilometers south-southeast of the Yilan County Government).

The earthquake's depth was recorded at 72.4 kilometers.

Following the earthquake, the Central Weather Administration issued a disaster warning message, triggering the Public Warning System (PWS) based on the earthquake's intensity. The warning was issued to residents in Yilan County and Taipei City.
