Taiwan's Hualien County: Assembly Speaker Zhang Jun Backs Recall of Fu Kun-chi
A prominent figure in Hualien, Zhang Jun, voices support for recalling Fu Kun-chi, igniting political debate.

The recall movement targeting Fu Kun-chi in Hualien County, Taiwan, has entered its second phase. Zhang Jun, the Speaker of Hualien County Council and a former chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT) county party, has publicly declared his support for the recall of Fu Kun-chi in a Facebook post earlier today. He appealed for the recall to help the KMT regain the trust of the people, adding momentum to the ongoing recall efforts.
Zhang Jun, a veteran KMT member who once served as the county party chairman, faced an interesting situation in the recent election. Although seeking reelection as the County Council Speaker, he was not nominated by the county party, allegedly due to a "blacklist" policy. After a close election, he secured a victory and immediately announced his withdrawal from the party. He has strongly criticized KMT chairman Zhu Lilun for allowing Fu Kun-chi to continue, and is considered a prominent figure opposing Fu in Hualien.
