Taiwan Under Scrutiny: China Conducts Military Exercises Around the Island
Show of Force: China's Military Drills Raise Tensions in the Taiwan Strait

On April 1st, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command, under the direction of spokesperson Shi Yi, announced the commencement of military exercises around Taiwan. The exercises involved elements from the army, navy, air force, and rocket force.
The drills focused on several key areas, including air and sea combat readiness patrols, seizing overall control, conducting strikes against both sea and land targets, and controlling crucial areas and passages. The purpose of these exercises is to evaluate the joint combat capabilities of the PLA's theater command forces.
According to Shi Yi, these actions serve as a stern warning and deterrent to "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, as well as a legitimate and necessary measure to safeguard national sovereignty and maintain national unity.
