Beijing Flexes Military Muscle with Joint Exercises Around Taiwan, Signaling Resolve.

The People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command announced the commencement of joint military exercises around Taiwan, starting April 1st. The exercises involve the PLA's ground forces, navy, air force, and rocket force.

According to the Xinhua News Agency, the exercises are focused on "multi-directional approaches to the island" of Taiwan, simulating key operations. These include naval and air patrols, exercises to gain comprehensive control of the airspace and sea, strikes against sea and land targets, and the blockading of strategic areas.

PLA Eastern Theater Command spokesperson Shi Yi stated that the exercises are a "serious warning and powerful deterrent" against "Taiwan independence" separatist forces.
