SUKIYA's Rat Revelation: A Food Safety Scare in Japan's Popular Chain

A shocking discovery at a SUKIYA restaurant in Japan has raised serious concerns about food safety. In January of this year, a customer at a SUKIYA branch in Tottori Prefecture found a whole mouse in their miso soup. The incident prompted an internal investigation by the popular beef bowl chain.

According to a statement released by SUKIYA on its official website on the 27th of this month, the rodent likely entered the premises through a crack in the rubber seal beneath a large refrigerator. The mouse then found its way into a bowl inside the refrigerator.

The incident, which occurred on January 21st, began when a customer at the "Tottori Minamiyoshikata Store" alerted staff to the presence of an unidentified object in their miso soup. Upon confirmation, the restaurant staff contacted local health authorities.

This incident highlights the importance of stringent hygiene practices and regular maintenance in food service establishments. SUKIYA's investigation sheds light on how easily contamination can occur, and underscores the need for constant vigilance to ensure the safety of food served to the public. The incident, although in Japan, could raise consumer awareness in Taiwan.
