Ko Wen-je's Sudden Health Scare: Former Taipei Mayor Receives Medical Attention

Former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je briefly hospitalized while detained at Taipei Detention Center.

Former Taiwan People's Party Chairman Ko Wen-je, currently detained at the Taipei Detention Center in connection with the Jinghua City case, was rushed to the hospital last night after experiencing discomfort.

On January 29th, the Taipei Detention Center received a report from Ko Wen-je indicating that he was feeling unwell. In response, the facility immediately initiated its medical emergency response protocol. At 9:55 PM, Ko Wen-je was escorted to the Taipei Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare for medical attention.

Reports indicate that Ko Wen-je received over an hour of treatment before being discharged and returned to the Taipei Detention Center at 11:30 PM.

The Taipei Detention Center reported that Ko Wen-je had been under continuous health monitoring. At 6:40 PM on January 29th, they received his complaint of feeling unwell. While initial vital signs appeared normal, authorities determined that he was a high-risk health case. After coordinating with partner hospitals to arrange necessary medical resources, a medical escort was dispatched at 9:55 PM. Following the treatment, Ko Wen-je was returned to the Taipei Detention Center under guard at 11:30 PM.
