Dramatic Jewelry Heist in Taichung: Elderly Owner Injured in Pursuit

A jewelry store in the Wuchi district of Taichung, Taiwan, was the scene of a brazen robbery this afternoon, resulting in the theft of a gold necklace and injuries to the elderly owner. The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 PM at the Tianhong Jewelry store, located near the Haotian Temple archway on Taiwan Boulevard Section 8.

According to initial reports, two suspects entered the store under the guise of shopping for jewelry. While one suspect claimed they needed to step outside to smoke, taking advantage of the opportunity as the owner unlocked the door, they both quickly rushed back in. They grabbed a gold necklace before fleeing the scene. In a shocking turn of events, the 70-year-old owner, identified as Ms. Wang, pursued the robbers, but was hit by their getaway car. She suffered multiple abrasions to her head and back.

Responding officers from the Qingshui Precinct arrived swiftly. Ms. Wang was rushed to the nearby Tungs' General Hospital for treatment. Initially, she was diagnosed with a scraped left arm. However, due to complaints of dizziness and nausea, further examination revealed a brain hemorrhage, and she was admitted to the intensive care unit. Authorities have identified the suspects and are now conducting an intensive search.
