Tragedy in Smangus: Crane Accident Leaves Two Injured in Taiwan
Emergency responders race to save lives after a crane overturns in a remote area of Hsinchu County.

A serious accident occurred this morning near the 5K mark in Smangus, Hsinchu County, Taiwan. A crane overturned, resulting in injuries to two individuals. One person was trapped inside the vehicle, while the other was initially found with an unclear state of consciousness.
The Hsinchu County Fire Department responded to the incident, dispatching three vehicles and six personnel from the Tianpu and Jianshih stations to the scene.
According to the Hsinchu County Fire Department, rescue teams successfully extricated the trapped individual at 9:52 AM. Sadly, this victim was found without vital signs (OHCA) at the scene. Emergency responders immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The patient was transported by Jianshih 91 ambulance to the National Taiwan University Hospital in Zhudong for urgent medical care. The other injured person, initially in an unclear state of consciousness, was transported to hospital by Tianpu 91 ambulance. The patient's condition worsened during transport, and they became OHCA (a 62-year-old male from Hsinchu County). He was transferred to Zhudong Veterans Hospital for further medical assistance.
